Default Menu built from PHP

I created a 'includes' menu using php and applied it to each page. Now when I select a page, products page, how can I show that when someone selects that page, the link is a different color?

I used these states for my links:

a:link
a:visited
a:hover
a:active

Is there another state i can use to show that link is selected?

have that link be on the same page they are browsing. if you just want to change the colors of links just use a class. especially if you are doing a menu item and it has to be different. here's an article I just found which takes my argument even further:
