Default css3 and IE8

hi guys

I am using HTML5 and CSS3 for a site and typically IE does not want to play ball. I have a contact form which has rounded corners. I have tried a hack for IE8 but it will not work!

http://paddedpostprotectors.co.uk/welcome

HTML Code:
.call{
	background: #e6e7e8;
	width: 90%;
	height: 390px;
	float: right;
	-moz-border-radius: 2px;
	border-radius: 2px;
	-moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 2px black;
	-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 2px black;
	box-shadow: 0px 0px 2px black;
	behavior: url(http://paddedpostprotectors.co.uk/wp-content/themes/cfx/border-radius.htc);/* this is the hack */
	margin-top: 10;
	margin-right: 5;
	margin-bottom: 20;
	margin-left: 5;
	padding-right: 10px;
	padding-bottom: 10px;
	padding-left: 10px;

}
Any suggestions on how to get this to work in IE8??

hi corrosive

Yep I tried the PIE.php as well. I may just use a graphic not sure as the shading doesn't work on IE8 as well.

No, in my experience any CSS3 hacks for IE don't handle rounded corners and shadows. You end up with round corners and square shadows... Not ideal!

Its frustrating that IE is not at the same standard as the other browsers. Its like the poor mans browser. I think I will have a separate style sheet for IE8 and use images instead of web kits and CSS3 for the shadings and round corners...

It a little frustrating to get these great new CSS tools, and not being able to use them with a larger amount of visitors. But If you can rewire your brain to think in terms of Progressive Enhancement/Graceful Degradation and realize that a web page should and can not look the same on all devices and browsers, it turns out to less of a problem.

If you're dealing with this issue with a client, I've had great success explaining about new technologies and how the page is made for current and future browsers, explaining the benefits of load speed and device independence. The client might not understand some of it, but if you've established a relationship where the client trusts your advice, they might thank you for going the extra step to make their page better.

I wish there was a "like" option for this comment.
