Default FTP Troubleshooting

I've read a bunch of articles and can not for the life of me figure this out. I'm trying to setup FTP, but I can't figure out the correct information to put in. Examples don't help me. Can someone please explain this to me? I'm not experienced with creating websites at all.

This is what I have:

Server Name: Name of website
FTP Address: IP Address
Username: Username I used with my host site
Password: Password I used with my host site
Web URL: Website Address

Where am I going wrong?

And where can I find Remote Info? I have Dreamweaver CS5, and I only see that term in old Dreamweaver FTP tutorials.

Hi, TMarie, welcome to the forum... I take it you are a student?
I can't read precisely how lost you are and hence am hesitant to go internet anthropology on you, BUT... you are using CS5, so I assume you are trying to "define" your site? The ftp information you seek is to be derived from your host, i.e the upload location. All hosts will specifically define the necessary steps to upload your site, and dreamweaver can be set up to accomplish this with 1 or two clicks. That said, first question is who is your host? "Remote information" is specified by your online host. It is an internet address to send your files to. Tell us who your host is (your internet website service) and we'll take it from there.

Site setup (formerly known as defining your site) changed with CS5 so some of the terminology has also changed.

I have a "Let's Get Started With Dreamweaver" mini-course (free but registration is required) the will help you. Make sure you follow the CS5 instructions. It's at http://www.dwcourse.com/dreamweaver-mini-course

There's also the article I wrote for this site, "Site Setup in Dreamweaver CS5 and CS5.5" at http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/cs5-setup.php which covers the site setup process.
