Default CSS3 div layering help

I'm writing code for my website and was wondering is it possible to stack or nest two divs on top of each other, each with its own box-shadow?

I know that may sound confusing so here's specs:

I created one div with a box shadow. I placed and image inside that div, but I want that image to have its own shadow..Is this possible?

Default

you could add a class with shadow to the image but not sure how that would look

i think you would need to add a shadow to the image with a photo editing program. simplest way any how
