Default Table Headings not aligned with table in IE

I have a table that shows perfectly in Firefox but in IE, the lines to the table heading do not match the lines for the rest of the table.

This makes no sense because they are all part of the same table, not separate tables. Has anyone else run into this problem with IE and what could I possibly do to fix it?

That's a new one on me. Never seen IE do that before and code looks fine.

Finally!!!!!! I fixed it! Just in case anyone else runs into this issue.. In the CSS, there was a 5px padding applied to the td. I tried to apply the same padding to the th but that did not work because the borders were still not matching up.

To fix, I removed the padding from the td in CSS and applied it directly to the table itself in HTML. I've wasted hours on this and it was such a simple fix! Oh well.. On to the next problem..

Actually.. I was wrong. It seemed to solve the problem but when I added more rows, now it does not align again. I'm so frustrated. I can't figure out what the problem is!
