Default Editable Attribute is not working


I have made and editable attribute on anchors withing the main navigation site. But it is not working, please help

Template Code:
<ul id="nav">
<li><a href="#" class="@@(_document['homeClass'])@@">Home</a></li>

Code looks in pages like this

<ul id="nav">
<li><a href="#" class="active">Home</a></li>

There is nothing above as written that would make it uneditable. Post more of the page code, and where you are trying to put it. The only thing that makes coded uneditable is trying to edit a template portion of a page that has been made off-limits by definition in the template itself.

Editable attributes are not editable within the document itself you edit them through the Modify>Template Properties… menu item.
