is one resource for guidelines in organic listing. I have to assume you are unaware of google adwords. On doing a search of google UK for the keywords shown, I see none of your competitors are using adwords either, hence the number one position will go for cheap. There is much to be learned about adwords, especially how not to pay through the nose in using them... Go to google adwords, and read up on it. G' Luck with it...

A fair portion of small business advertising dollars spent on google adwords are wasted in that the ad-placers do not pay enough attention to the distribution of their ads. 'Search' and 'Content' are two primary forms of adwords and you need to read up on them to understand placement, but in a nutshell, as a small business you are going after clients within a clearly defined geographical range. Controlling where, how, and when your 'search' listings show up is step one, but where many businesses fail to follow through is controlling the content ads. I recommend turning content ads off. Although they are drastically cheaper, you wind up in many cases advertising your business 500 miles outside your true range, which someone finds out the hard way after clicking your ad, which you in turn just paid for... Then there are other things; Your site's relevency score, your click-through rate, also control what you are being charged. Forgive this very generalized answer, but the use of adwords is a broad topic and there is far more information to be learned than can be conveyed here... Again, I encourage you to read up extensively if you plan to use them.

An I-wino! ... Haggardly drifting through the labrythian void, bagged bottle in hand, idly musing nondescript... Yeah... I could see myself doing that...
