ok my suggestions are learn css and dont try to export from another program.
firstly
use relative positioned dives for layout
dont use tables unless for tabular data
if you want to learn web design start now properly,
AND
you have a warninng about double posting please take note and dont do it. we will help when and if we can we are not here to drop every thing because you get impatient

Everything edbr says plus:

Come up with a standard layout (or two) for your pages. You don't want to have to custom code each page.

Resign yourself to aligning your columns of text flush left. Trying to create that layout where the indent from the left changes as you move down the page is going to cause you no end of trouble.

Im sorry, I didn't realize this counted as a double post. i didnt know about it earlier and i thought that if i put them in different things that they would be seen by more people. but this is a different problem. i thought i had found an answer and wanted feed back. everyone keeps saying not to use dreamweaver, or tables, or saying that i should learn the right way. we learn to use tables in dreamweaver. what is a right or better way of doing it.

relative positioning divs for layout. dreamweaver is just an editing tool , but it a good one that has limitations of course. there are mant editors to write html but IMO dreamweaver is the best entry level tool. dreamweaver does not teach using tables look at their templates
