![]() Hi
Could someone please help..... I am trying to do a 301 Redirect for a site I have done. My ultimate aim is to redirect all the site to www. as this, I am told, makes the site more 'search engine friendly' I have read about .htaccess files and httpd.conf, but to be honest I am not really sure what this means. Can someone explain how to do this as I can't work it out. Thanks in advance Jules1777 ![]() |

![]() .htaccess is a file that you can make with notepad or any text editor. it sits in your root directory providing it is a unix server and can have many uses. for wht you want you may find you can do this via your sites control panel if not put this (modified to your site name) in an .htaccess file
Code:
Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yoursite.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yoursite.com/$1 [L,R=301]
