Question pc problems!

Hey everyone. Ive just moved city and now live in madrid. In the process I sent my pc via deleviry service and arrived 2 days later. Last night I tried setting it up and realised Id forgotten the power cable for the tower. I decided to try and use the power cable from the monitor to see if the tower would boot ok......and Im afraid all it did is light up the card reader slots it has but nothing else. No sound, No led lights...nothing.

Now this worries me....could it be messed up? maybe from the shipping? Im also thinking that maybe the power cable is not correct....? But I thought that they were all the same.....
Im going to buy a power cable for the tower and see what happens...

Can anybody offer some advice to what you think might be wrong.....
Cheers. last thing I need is my pc going dead...
