If i'm uploading an image into my site in dreamweaver, i dont know how to use a transparent background on an image (example: a white arrow) if i have a blue background on my site and i want to have a transparent background in my arrow.

Yes, go to file, save for web. This will open a new window that will give you a number of options. Select GIF and check the box nex to transparency. If the transpparent arrow is only a few colors, you can pick 2 through 64 colors in the drop down to keep your file size small. If the transparent arrow will be on top of a bule background I would put a blue matte on it. Usually transparent gif that have round edges will have white block around them, the matte will help elimate that. just try and match the same blue. The click "save"

8-bit png works with IE6, though it ignores alpha transparency if you use it.

See PNG8 - The Clear Winner for more info.
