Default Spry Widget Image Slideshow with Filmstrip

Hi
I want to create 9 pages for 9 separate slideshow galleries using the Spry widget image slideshow with filmstrip (1.0)

All 9 are child pages with navigation but when I insert the widget Dreamweaver advises me that the head is not editable.
I have tried inserting an editable region in the template.dwt head but this doesnít update the child pages so the 9 heads are not editable.
The slideshow does of course work OK on the template.dwt

At the moment my only option is to use 9 separate templates but that would be a tedious task to update the navigation every time a change is made.
Iím using Dreamweaver CS5.5 Windows 7.

Any help would be appreciated and my template code is below.

<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" -->
<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->
<title>mountain Activities Gallery</title>
<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
<link href="../costablancamountainfriends.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script src="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<meta name="Description" content="Mountain Club based in Spain for Costa Blanca Mountain Walking, Hiking, Via Ferrata, Canyoning and Climbing" />
<meta name="keywords" content=" spain hiking club, mountain walking and hiking, scrambling, canyoning, rock climbing, via ferrata, las marinas, costa blanca mountains, puig campana, montgo, ferrer ridge, serra de bernia, monte castellets, barranco del infierno, castell de castells, walking hiking and scrambling routes, canyoning routes, via ferrata routes, map of spain, segaria, ponoch mountain activities spain, Alicante, Gandia"/>
</head>
<body>

<div class="container"><a name="top" id="top"></a>
<div class="header"><!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="EditHead" --><img src="../costablancatestimages/Penya-del-Figueret.jpg" width="960" height="199" alt="Penya del Figueret" /><!-- TemplateEndEditable -->

If you don't have a large website depending on your templates, I would suggest to use php or ASP includes, server side includes.
If you learn that, DW templates will be a thing of the past and you'll be smiling. Sorry not to be of immediate help, but couldn't resist the temptation.

Thanks for your advice and I have now started looking at php compatible slideshows. I found this one of interest as it includes navigation between folders so I only need one page not 9. Also it incorporates auto thumbnails which will save me a lot of time.
