Spry Target - How to not make the page jump
I'm bein' lazy here but I'm on a timeline... I'm still fresh when it comes to spry. The panel has two pages. onClick go to panel two, target is of course the same page. I gather I need to set the target value to somewhere on the page such that the page does not reposition, as it does likes it's refreshing. In effect what one sees with a proper target value is that the panel slides smoothly across. The spry panel itself cannot be placed high enough on the page to override this effect by default positioning. So method is create target object, place it, and then nomenclature is target="#____" ??

I suspect I need to rephrase. Bottom line is a smooth transition from page 1 to page 2. Is this an href or targeting issue? Code?

HTML Code:

<elementname id="target">

That might still cause the page to jump slightly. How about a Javascript null link? href="javascript:;" ow what this guy propposes: http://www.tjkdesign.com/articles/nulllinks.asp

Interesting, I did not get notification of response on these. Really what I'm in the middle of is undoing a mix of html robbed from different resources to achieve a desired effect, which of course doesn't work. (76 errors, good 'ol xml tags in a transitional among others...) My client gave me a partially completed site to repair, which unfortunately has broken down into a complete rewrite. I gave up on the original spry & so rewriting from scratch, but I suspect the issue of smooth scroll will still arise as the widget is positioned too far down the page for default static display. Target description above should work great, thanks D, I'll report the result...

On a href Jim you're right, that will happen, I'm aware of that link, defined as 'I saw it used & didn't understand it & now I do', I'll look at the reference & learn it... Thank you sir...

Javascript was the route to take; clients were in a hurry to get the site up before dashing off to Cancun, so more editing remains, but the spry is a smooth transitional...
