View Full Version : Where have the images gone?

10-03-2016, 02:10 PM
Hello all,

I'm new here but have been using DW3 and DW5.5 for a while. I've put a site together with.jpg images of a variety of Google maps.

They all appear nicely when viewing the page in DW5.5, but when uploaded none of them show. All the images have been uploaded - so it's not that sort of issue. When you view the page, there isn't even a blank icon (where the image is meant to be) showing. I don't get it!

The site is: http://www.simplyhelping.com.au/offices/html.

Has someone got any idea of where I may have gone wrong please?

Regards to all...

getting 404 for http://www.simplyhelping.com.au/images/, is the images folder uploaded?

Hi edbr,

I've just now uploaded a couple of new .jpg images and they're not appearing on the live site either, although they are locally via DW5.5.

When FTPing them (via Filezilla), they went where they should to "simplyhelping.com.au/images" without any problem.

Earlier this morning, all the images I was on about last night, could be viewed. Now after the latest upload, they don't appear on the live site and I'm wondering if there is a new weird time-frame for them to come good, although that's never been an issue in previous years and years!

I have no idea why we can't get a view of the images folder. There are only two folders for the site: one called "images" and the other named "Controls".

The image(s) will appear at:

with "BaysidePeninsula.gif" in this case.

I'm not sure if one should be able to open the folder "Images". I've tried, but no go!

Some servers, if they're Linux, will not recognise an image folder if spelled with a lower case "i".

There are a total of 13 map images for this web site, two of which in "nsw" and "wa" work perfectly. The remaining 11 are all included in just one page: www.simplyhelping.com.au/offices.html.

I've thought of having too many sub-folders, but then why is it the 2 other images work?

Each image is meant to appear within collapsible panels and it is here that not a thing appears live, although they work when "Preview in Browser" in DW5.5.

This is driving me totally insane. Is there anybody out there?

Regards to all.

yes image folders can be excluded. why i suggested a direct link to your image.

i would try first make a simple page of images like below. add th\all imges imn your folder and see if they display. if yes we can look else where if not you can adress the image links 1 by 1
<!doctype html>
<p><img src="Images/gif/Central Highlands.gif" alt="Central Highlands &amp; Djerriwarrh franchise " width="591" height="421" hspace="10" title="Central Highlands &amp; Djerriwarrh franchise"></p>
<p><img src="Images/gif/Geelong_Barwon.gif" alt="Geelong Barwon franchise" width="591" height="537" hspace="10" title="Geelong Barwon franchise"></p>
<p><img src="Images/gif/Loddon-Mallee.gif" alt="Loddon-Mallee franchise" width="430" height="489" hspace="10" title="Loddon-Mallee franchise"></p>
