As per the title,when clicking on the test button i am unable to connect which is the same as when i click on put.

I believe my settings are correct so how would i try to solve this please.

Sorry about that.
Today its now working so i assume it must have been the server etc ?
Could you advise something as it works a little different to the filezilla ftp that i was using.
I made an edit to the email and the used the find & replace.Then all the files changed are shown in the lower section of my page.I would now normaly go to filezilla and just upload all the new edited files,say 2 minutes & done.
What ive done today is to select all the files in the group shown in the lower section of the Dreamweaver screen & select PUT.It looks like its trying overwrite everything on each page.It reads Putting independant files of basic.css, then in the box below 99.9% show not transfered & the 1% shows transfered.Is this going to happen each time as its taken say 5 or more minutes to do this.

why not just use filezilla?

I thought that there was a problem with Filezilla so i started to us DW for a day or two.

well then in dreamweaver you need to use the synchronise button - have a quick look in the help for the site manager. i haven't used DW for years so can't remember where it is ;)

that way it will only put the newer files

I use Filezilla for everything.

Where did you hear about problems with it?

Mine says it can't connect either, but, it still updates my webpage. Just a bunch of clicking okay and yes. Do you already have your site on a server or just trying to get it on a server?
