I am trying to edit the HTML font separately. I insert a new h6 tag, select it and when I change the font size it affects the entire page. How can I edit the selected HTML text rather than the CSS? And I would also like to know how to stack headings on top of eachtoher and edit there fonts differently, like so,

<h6> size, colour
<h5> size, colour
<h1> size, colour

in dreamweaver you can do that in properties you can edit any tag. and use a seperate css sheet.
If it is changing the whole page it is not editing the tag but is somehow selecting more, probably an issue of closing previous tags but thats a guess.

All Dreamweaver is doing is adding inline CSS.

If you are getting undesired results just drop into code view and add it in yourself. For example.

<h1 style="font-family: Arial; font-size:20px; color:red;">I am a heading level 1</h1>
<h2 style="font-family: Georgia; font-size:16px; color:blue;">I am a heading level 2</h2>

You are far better though using an external CSS file. and using.

h1 {
font-family: Arial;
font-size: 20px;
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Georgia;
font-size: 16px;
color: blue;
}

If you need to be more specific and just want to target a specific h1 then use a class. Like so

.header {
font-family: Arial;
font-size: 20px;
color: red;
}

<h1 class="header">I am a heading level 1</h1>
