I'm looking for help from anyone familiar with using the jQuery RoyalSlider within Dreamweaver.

Not used it but I've seen it used in a few tutorials. They are all fairly similar TBH, whats the problem?

I'm familiar with adding widgets and plugins to Dreamweaver through the Extensions Manager that then appear under the Insert menu. As this is not the case with RoyalSlider, I need a bit more input. I'm not a javascript programmer. I've looked over the RoyalSlider documentation, but do not find it very helpful. I need more of a step-by-step guide, something like the tutorials for the WordPrress version. My alternative is to go with one of the much more expensive widgets, but I'd like to see if I can get RS to work first.

You don't need to be a programmer to use the Royal slider, that's the whole point.

Personally I use Flex Slider that's both excellent and free. Flex slider is also super light weight, really easy to use and of course fully responsive. Even supports touch and swipes.

I used it here: http://www.magiglideuk.co.uk/

If you want to use that I can record a video tutorial to show you how. They are really simple.

You always have:

1. The HTML code that contains your images
2. Apply your CSS
3. Load the jQuery library
4. Load the slider plugin
5. Intialize the plugin
6. Done!

The Royal slider will be very similar though.

Any reason why you want to use the Royal Slider? can't see the point in buying a slider when there are so many great free ones.

The reason I chose RoyalSlider is because it's used on a site that my client likes. I'd prefer something that's integrated with Dreamweaver through the Extensions Manager, but I'll try this first.
I wouldn't mind looking at a video tutorial for the flex slider, though, if it's not too much trouble.

Thanks for your help.

Here you go mate a video tutorial (give it 30 mins for Vimeo to process) 21.15pm

https://vimeo.com/102868917

Also the files I use in the video

In the video I didn't show it complete and working but the files are working. All I did extra was link the images, you'll see what I mean.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers

No problem.

If you use the video in conjunction with the files you'll have a working slider that you can use on any website.
