View Full Version : Login user access level redirect

Hi...I planned , After logging in user redirect page based on their roles (like forums) . In database I have 3 columns user id, password,role. With this admin redirected to admin.php and user to user.php others login.php . I tried adobe cs5 server behaviour login user function and restrict page. But how do redirect them based on their roles in adobe Dreamweaver. Please guide me.

That looks like a great link that Ed posted. If you are wanting to do more technical server side work then I would strongly encourage you to learn how to do it with PHP rather than using Dreamweaver's behaviours.

If you use DW you'll find it very restrictive and hard to edit thats even if you can get it to do what you want in the first place. I've found DW's server side stuff a token gesture at best. To be fair to Adobe though thats all it can ever be.

If you don't want to learn then thats fair enough, in that case I would try to find an off the shelf system that you can use to achieve what you want as I'm fairly sure whatever it is that you are wanting to do will be catered for and if it isn't creating it in DW won't be the answer.

Just my thoughts.

such as register, remeber me, forgotten password, defence aginnst the dark arts including brute force attacks, Im out of touch but im curious if DW has updated to mysqli or PDO as so many scripts will fail as php reaches 5.5 if not, ant it will happen sooner rather than later i suspect.
