I'm wanting to produce a page that has a main image and 5 accessory pages where each acc. image replaces the main image. I don't know how to try this, multiple layers was suggested to me but after what I read here I think there must be a better way.

What do you guys suggest that I try?

edbr,

I tried what you suggested (java.com) and while there were a number of plugins there very few had "demos". Did I do something wrong? Do you recommend another site that I might try?

I'll keep looking after I return from my doctors appointments. Sorry to bother but I need (and want) all the help I can get.

Java and javascript are not the same things. Check http://jquery.com/ instead.

You could use

http://www.twospy.com/galleriffic/

Or http://www.slidesjs.com/

Both do want you want, gallerfic is more fully featured for this type of thing though.

There are loads of others, though.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have built it all in DW CS6 and am getting great results, I have a lot of work yet to do but now I have something I can show you guys exactly what I'm after.

Is there a better or easier way to do it? Right now it's in a table, is there a way I can do it in CSS? Is there a better way to do it in something like Javascript?

We've already answered this question mate.

You would use Javascript or more specially the jQuery library with one of the plugins I mentioned.

With regards to layout you would of course be better using CSS than tables.
