I have researched all kinds of site search solutions. Google, Findberry, Atomz and I can't get them to search my pdf files. I was hoping I didn't have to set up a database. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Hi CHux, can you elaborate a little more on any errors or problems you encounter? Google searches PDF's that has text. Probably others as well.

I tried out the free version (Custom Search Engine), and saw no option to index pdf files which I have in a folder within my images folder. Before purchasing the $100.00 version (Google Site Search), I would like to be sure that I have the ability to index pdf files. I have not seen anything in the features list of the paid version that verifies that I can search for the pdf files stored in my site. I was hoping that I didn't have to set up a database (DB). Most of the other tools that I have encountered require that I set up a DB.

Thank you in advance, for replying.

Here's the link to my site:

http://www.extremeadhesives.com/acrylics.php

To the right of each product image, you will see "Tech Data" and "MSDS" links. Those are the pdf's that I need to index.

I just tried it again on the free version. It finds my pdf's just fine. I guess I was looking for the setting to index pdf's in the control panel. I did not know that they were automatically indexed. I will go for the ad-free version.

Your PDF's are already indexed by Google:

https://www.google.com/#hl=en&safe=off&tbo=d&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=http:%2F%2Fwww.extremeadhesives.com%2Fimages%2Fp df%2FTD300.pdf&oq=http:%2F%2Fwww.extremeadhesives.com%2Fimages%2F pdf%2FTD300.pdf&gs_l=hp.3...838.838.0.2980.1.1.0.0.0.0.60.60.1.1.0 .les%3B..0.0...1c.1.iyWxFpoIk1g&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.1355325884,d.b2U&fp=dbbeaa135e1ac0b0&bpcl=39967673&biw=1366&bih=639 so I would advise using their regular site search
http://www.google.com/enterprise/search/products_gss.html

There is no 'options' for this as far as I know.
