This is really starting to get my goat. I've been trawling forums and the preferences, but can't find the solution. Hopefully someone can help...

I've been using DW for years MX2004 and before. I recently upgraded to CS5.5 and it treats the cursor position differently to previous versions and all other text editors that I have used.

Pls note, I like to keep my code indents nice and neat using tabs, as follows:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
<h1>Heading</h1>
<div id="main">
Some blurb in here
</div>
</body>
</html>

If you click at the start of the <h1> line and then Shift down arrow to highlight that entire line, DW CS5.5 automatically selects the first tab of the next line.

Also just moving the cursor down or up seems to automatically place the cursor after the first tab, on lines with tabs.

Of course, all I want is for it to select that line, not the first tab on the next line and place the cursor at the start of each line and not after the first tab.

Please help...

**EDIT**

When posting the tabs indents in the code are deleted! Please see the code listed below with * to represent number of tabs:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
*<h1>Heading</h1>
*<div id="main">
**Some blurb in here
*</div>
</body>
</html>

CTRL+End

That's what I do.
