You have to wait until next time the Google bot visits your page.

Patience = virtue ;)

Thanks for quick reply guys. Will take the patience route for this one! Just wondered if my html code was correct just incase.

If you don't want to wait, then you can generate an XML sitemap (http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/) of the site and submit the sitemap with Google webmaster tool (http://www.google.com/webmasters/).

Already did that thanks. Ran it through the webmaster tools and also through Attractus.

I suspect I have just done the coding wrong because surely my page title should have changed from index to Stravaig Ceilidh Band as I changed the page title through dreamweaver and updated it yesterday.

If someone doesnt mind having a look at the page code or type Stravaig Ceilidhs into google they will see what i mean.

your site is a collection of images, so google is giving your description a miss, im only guessing but it will not know if relevant to page content. so i thinkk oyur problems is there

Surely if the description and keywords are contained within a meta tag it shouldnt matter about the number of images within site?

Also the content is all text based so key words or even a description should be attainable from there?

metatags are secondary to google. keywords are completely ignored. description is supposed to reflect the subject of the page

oh there isnt any on the index page as its an introduction page.

Is that likely to be the problem?

edbr is right. There's no content on the homepage. It's all images. Also I did a Google Page Speed test and your site gets 28 out of 100, which is darn low. Google als checks if a page loads fast or not and takes the result into the ranking.

Aside from not using a doctype and tables for layout, your code is also far from search engine friendly. Empty alt tags, loads of spacer gifs and no text at all to index.

I see, any recommendations from where to go from here? My client is at least keen to see it appear somewhere on the google search!

Camy he's referring to your index page. You have zero text copy there. I grant you may not want any there, but it would be a big plus if you could put in at least some relevant copy, with perhaps at least 2 header tags.
