See below in chrome & IE. Chrome renders correctly...

Anyone have a tried & true IE hack for text shadowing? 7 & up is fine...
I don't have the option in this case to utilize html 5, so I'm stuck with older scripts. Unless of course a good js script is available... Anyone? :)

If the design has to be like that, I'd just use regular text, and then an image replacement technique for output.

If this is for IE6 only, i'd forget about it. Assuming the target audience is in the states. Unless you have the site stats to back it up ;-)

Oops... no disclaimers... The picture is a placeholder till I create some real ones from greenscreening... Doesn't have a thing to do with this discussion, just gotta cover myself here :)

I'd like to be able to use the shadowing. I need to tone it down & tweak the coloring, but in the immediate moment would like to make it work in IE. Could you define image replacement technique? This is a text manipulation technique of some sort?

Also, I was referring for a method for 7 & up... I could care less about 6 :)

Could you define image replacement technique?

It's where you replace some text with an image.
For example:

p#special {
width: 100px;
height: 50px;
margin: 0;
background: url(special.png);
text-indent: -9000px;
}

There is a couple of different variations of this technique, none which are perfect afaik.
