When I create a new HTML doc it throws up a syntax error on line 1.
There seems to be a script added.

The code is:

<script><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=">
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
</body>
</html>
</script>

How can I change the new HTML doc to not have this script as it is a little frustrating to delete it out whenever I want to create a new doc?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The opening and closing script tags should not be there. If you're using Dreamweaver, make sure that you choose HTML as the document type when you create a new page.
