Hi there everyone,

I need to create a web page for Uni, and one of the things I'd like to achieve is to add a jpg image, then add text to the image. Either sitting on top of the image or just below.

I just attempted to create a AP DIV box and enter the text in. But when I go into Preview mode, the image moves and the text stay where it was.

Is there a better way to do this in Design mode?

not exactly but i just played around with it. try this
1 insert your image
2 create an app div
3 delete the appdiv from the page it will remain in the code assume it is called apDiv1 by dreamweaver.
4 select the image then in properties in the box marked id add apDiv1
you can now place yee image where ever you want in design view
you can now create more appdivs place as you want and add text.

That was fun as I haven't looked at design view for so long.
As a general rule it is better to add appdivs in relatively positioned divisions so there referencing points are taken from that instead of from the screen but try this see how you get on

To simplify, I'd create a div the size of your image and use the image as the background. Then you can place your text in the div.
