View Full Version : Hide overflow, but still allow scroll?

I'm back... This time with a more understandable question :) On the newly formed portion of my blog (http://kn3rdmeister.artfulme.net), I have three fixed divs, and one div that continues to scroll. The left sidebar, the navigation bar, and the header are all fixed to the page.

My problem starts with the main text ("Lorem ipsum dolor..."). The page is set up to where the text will scroll, but the aforementioned three divs will not.

But, I'd like to set a fixed height for the #rightcontent div. The height and width then would act like a "viewport" for the text. The overflow is hidden, yet the page still scrolls.

Here's a visual of what I'm trying to explain...

For the div in question simply set your overflow to "auto". This tells the browser to use scroll bars when required.

Would that add scroll bars to the div itself, or keep them outside on the far right of the screen? I'm looking to do the latter.

So overflow set to hidden, and a height on the DIV. Did you do this already?
