View Full Version : Choosing... VBScript, C#, Ajax, Spry

I am working on this site. www.bspgc.com/customize.html (http://www.bspgc.com/customize.html) I like the look and functionality of it so far. A customer can customize their car based on model, body color, canopy color and seat color. However, it is incomplete. I need to add at least 3 more levels of customization and possibly cost in the future.

I know to get there I need to go dynamic and have already built my database and prepared the server for ASP But I can't seem to even get as far as I have using simple html and a little Javascript.

This attempt at ASP.NET C# using Spry MasterDetail regions doesn't seem to allow me to be able to let the customer filter by parameter. Like my original I want to be able to use buttons to make selections.

Using using ASP.NET with VBScript allows me to generate buttons from my database but I can't seem to get them to make selections to change the photo.

I've tried finding a website that is doing what I want to achieve so that I could "borrow" some code but I can't seem to find anything close enough to adapt to mine.

I'm sure there are dozens of different ways to get to what I need. Can anyone tell me what the best starting point might be?

Thank you in advance!

I'm thinking that the spry master/detail is the way to go and maybe I could nest the xml data to make the sorting easier.

I keep finding snippets that seem like they should work but can't figure out how to implement them to my situation.
