View Full Version : Template Editable Regions

I have a problem with my template banner image editable region using DW CS5.5

I have made a template .dwt with the div.content and div.sidebar2 editable.
The child page I made allows me to edit the above two regions OK.

Now I want to make the banner image 960x199 editable so that the child page and any new child pages can use a different banner image to the template.
I used this sequence.
Click .dwt banner image to make sure <img> is selected/modify/templates/make attribute editable.
In the popup box I chose the src attribute and ticked the little box. OK/save/update child page.
(The default image shown in the box is /costablancatestimages/Penya-del-Figueret.jpg)
The template banner image placement region is now replaced with a grey 960x199 box.
When selecting the child page the image placement area 960x199 is also grey but is un editable with the no entry sign.

I have been through the above sequence numerous times making test child pages but the child image placement region is always grey and un editable.
A portion of my code is as follows.

<!-- TemplateParam name="src" type="text" value="../costablancatestimages/Penya-del-Figueret.jpg" -->

<div class="container">
<div class="header"><img src="@@(src)@@" width="960" height="199" />

Any help would be appreciated.

You've made the src attribute editable. to change it you have to go under menu: Modify>Template Properties and enter a new value for the attribute.

You probably intended to place the image in an editable region menu: Insert>Template Object>Editable region.

Both methods work but they operate differently.

Problem solved by removing the attribute editable/src and using what you indicated. Insert>Template Object>Editable region.

Many thanks
