Just working on site www.capbnk.com/about.html

and trying to make spry menu transparent against image. Ive tried lots of ways and menu works great on an apple with all browsers but cant seem to trick i.e. I can get the transparency by assigning opacity to main div on css but this seems to disable the spry drop-downs. Tried every way to do but cant seem to figure it out. Need to show to client in the morning HELP!!!!

code for main css is

#apDiv4 {
background-color: #999;
/* for IE */
filter:alpha(opacity=60);
/* CSS3 standard */
opacity:0.6;
position:absolute;
width:1200px;
height:33;
top: 109px;
z-index:200;

}

Spry menus are just standard out the box from dreamweaver

They may be standard out of the box for dreamweaver... but I've come to learn that Spry has been, basically, discontinued as a whole... with that said.. which version of IE?

At the bottom of the CSS for DW Spry menus there is a bit of code like this:

/* HACK FOR IE: to make sure the sub menus show above form controls, we underlay each submenu with an iframe */
ul.MenuBarVertical iframe
{
position: absolute;
z-index: 1010;
filter:alpha(opacity:0.1);
}
/* HACK FOR IE: to stabilize appearance of menu items; the slash in float is to keep IE 5.0 from parsing */
@media screen, projection
{
ul.MenuBarVertical li.MenuBarItemIE
{
display: inline;
f\loat: left;
background: #FFF;
}
}
ul.MenuBarVertical ul a {
background-color: #A6B53A;
}

These apply only to IE and some folks overlook them. You'll need edit delete the background and background-color rules
