If it is a site that lives on the Interwebz with other web sites, the search engines will find it themselves. They have spiders specifically created for finding all pages on the web. Put a link in the next post and on you other web site to be sure, and the search engines will take your bait asap :)

Do the other stuff as well;

Make sure you have either www. pointed to non-www. or vice versa using your .htaccess file
Use robots.txt
Get a sitemap
Sign up for Webmaster Tools (Google) and take control of your website
Use Google Analytics so you know where your visitors are coming from and what they are doing when they get there
Pretty much anything else you can find both on this forum and out on t'interweb

Have fun and do go mental looking at stats ;)

You've a bit of work to do, you're missing lots of things that are beneficial. We just had a good thread about all this and here it is:
http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41464

Read through all of it & use the tools specified. You'll be off & running...

You missed the most important tag of them all..

You missed the most important tag of them all..

You definitely need to add a description tag!

You definitely need to add a description tag!

I meant the content of the TITLE tag.

I meant the content of the TITLE tag.

ahhh... ok.. I was thinking description for SEO purposes since there's nothing on the index.. and I'd definitely rethink the page titles.

The meta description tag has no bearing on where you place in the modern search engines :)

You are correct. But a good description will tell searchers what your site is about which, in return, we hope would increase click-through rate. Definitely not the most important tag..

I was unsure of the difference between
<META NAME="Title" CONTENT="The First rival sons forum and fansite">
and
<title>The First rival sons forum and fansite</title>...

So after googyahobinging it.. I see what you mean.
Thanks for the heads up... I need to change some things myself

DoMedia... I did some more reading last night and I can't seem to understand the importance of including <META NAME="Title" CONTENT="The First rival sons forum and fansite"> instead of <title>The First rival sons forum and fansite</title>...

I have never heard about <meta name="title">

In my opinion, you don't need any META tags to do it well in search engines.
