I am trying to edit my website on Dreamweaver & Contribute but it says i carnt because the website is being edited by another user. I have three PC's and they all say the same. I dont think ive left anything unpublished and no one else edits them. Can anyone help me overide this issue so it allows me to upload and edit please? Urgent instructions really appreciated!

I'm not the greatest authority on Contribute I must admit but try the check files in/out options. Could have something to do with that; http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/9.0/help.html?content=WSc78c5058ca073340dcda9110b1f693 f21-7ef2.html

Thanks for your note. Not managed this problem yet and not sure if ive dealt with the in/out correct. Do you know if there is anyway of resetting adobe dreamweaver so i can start a fresh editing as though noone had previously edited? So any unpublished draft, whereever it is is cancelled?

Thanks for trying anyway. If anyone else can help - still stuggling!

Did you try to check out the file?

You're admin should be able to overwrite the setting and, actually, I thought you could do it yourself when you tried to open the file.

There's also this from Adobe: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/10.0_Using/WScbb6b82af5544594822510a94ae8d65-7f24a.html

Other options:

Somewhere in DW's site setup (depend on version) you'll find an option for enable check in/check out. Uncheck it an you should be able to edit the whole site (of course you just lost the check in/check out feature).

If that doesn't work, you could create a new site definition for the site and not check that box (again, you just lost the check in/check out feature).
