View Full Version : One way pages?

Is there a way to make a page that you can only get to by a link and not any other way such as direct entry or using the back button? I have no idea where to begin with this so any suggestions would be great.

You could do it with PHP sessions and a log in but there may be a better way. Can you expand on what it is for at all?

I want data inserted into the database when they are directed to this page from a pay-pal link, what I want to avoid is them refreshing it over and over to increase the data inserted into their database. If I could even redirect them from a page that loads the data before the page loads then somehow hide the page it was redirected from that would work too.

You can always have a 'hidden page' that does the work. I.e.

Paypal paid --> creates a PHP session --> redirects to a PHP page to process --> PHP session picked up --> script inserts data into database --> session is killed --> redirect to a thank you page. The customer wouldn't even notice.

You'll need to brush up on your programming skills but it is certainly do-able.
