I have created an audioplayer as a SWF which i would like to use several times on a website. The problem is that the players overlap each other when started; when starting player no 2 with no 1 already running, i get two different songs playing on top of each other.

Is it possible to use javascript to connect and make the individual players stop and start?

Googling the issue it seems like im not the only one who wants to find a solution.

You have any idea where to look for answer or ask the question?

For anyone interested in the issue, Dan Muzyka has an impressive tutorial which combines Flowplayer's audio-version, JQuery and CSS/HTML to place several mp3players on a website. Havent tested it yet, but looks promising.

What Dan Muzyka acchieved is actually just what i was looking for! Except for the use of the Flowplayer! I just want the startbuttons, no bullshit popping out.

If anyone has other suggestions / solutions please post.

You could use Audioplay where you can also use multiple players on one page. Clicking on another on will stop playing the previous one.
The paths to the mp3's and controlling the player is through a XML file.
