Hi this is my first post.
I have built a page with dreamweaver 8. I have three links on the page which I want to link to 3 different quick time films but I want the quick time player to open on the same page and in the same place for each of the the three links. So by that I mean I click link one a qt opens up on the same page, then click link 2 and it opens up on the same page in the same place as the first qt and so on.

Many thanks Antony

It's do-able, and you will need to store separate references and create separate event listeners for each video player. I dug this up as an example of what your script will look like:

var playerOneID = "myExperience608391496001";var playerTwoID = "myExperience608410146001"; var playerOneVideo;var playerTwoVideo; function onTemplateLoaded(playerID) { var player = bcPlayer.getPlayer(playerID); if (playerID == playerOneID) { playerOneVideo = player.getModule(APIModules.VIDEO_PLAYER); playerOneVideo.addEventListener(BCMediaEvent.COMPL ETE, onPlayerOneMediaComplete); } else if (playerID == playerTwoID) { playerTwoVideo = player.getModule(APIModules.VIDEO_PLAYER); playerTwoVideo.addEventListener(BCMediaEvent.COMPL ETE, onPlayerTwoMediaComplete); }} function onPlayerOneMediaComplete(event) { playerOneVideo.loadVideo(event.media.id);}function onPlayerTwoMediaComplete(event) { playerTwoVideo.loadVideo(event.media.id);}</script>

Great thanks for your reply. I kind of get but I'm not 100%. So where would I put this script on my page and how do I link to the different video files.

Or you could just use colorbox or something like this to achieve what you want.

I did this site a few years back and this works well.

This one uses colorbox, its just one video but it could easily be three.

The videos reside in their own pages.

This actually uses Flash with an HTML5 backup so it plays in all devices too.

I can supply the code if you want.

John, you're aware that the code you posted is for Brightcove only, right?

looks great.
The site you linked is exactly what I want to acheive but with qt not flash so it can work on iPhone etc. So I need to look into colour box then?

Hi Ricky 55.
Would you have a code for the way the video's play on that page, as that is perfect.
Many thanks
Antony.

If you email me I will send you the whole package so you can use it exactly like I did. richard@qwerty-design.co.uk

You don't need to use Quick Time to get movies to work on the iPhone and iPad.

If you use my code it will play in Flash on desktop computers but when Flash is not available it will use HTML5 to play the video so it will play fine on the iPad and iPhone.

This way you get the best of both worlds. The nice Flash video player on desktop computers but still get the video playing on mobile devices.

So you'll be able to use the exact same code as I did on this website.
