Hello,

I've created the following page using FireFox, IE HTML and CSS, but I'm told that Safari on the Mac does not display the top nav correctly. Any clues as to what's going on here?

Thanks, Kyle

Looks OK in Safari to me. Is it possible that the user who told you there was a problem has the text zoomed to a larger size?

Thanks for your quick response. The font actually displays for them as Times. I don't think its a sizing issue.

Actually that's not a Safari issue. You specified "Franklin Gothic Medium Cond" and the user probably doesn't have that font on their system (as most people won't). Since you didn't specify a backup font, the default - Times - is being seen by most people.

You need to learn about web safe fonts.

What do you mean then with 'not correctly'? It looks in Safari on my mac good too and identical as in Firefox.

EDIT: nevermind... DWcourse slipped in before me :)

Thanks. I thought we were beyond web-safe fonts nowadays.

Yes, we quite are now as long as you use @font-face. ;)

But remember there are licensing issues involved in using those technologies and I believe you'll find Franklin Gothic Medium Cond is going to require a license to use it on a web page (if you are allowed to do it at all).

Thanks for the assist. I've added alternate fonts to the CSS. Lesson learned.
