Hello !

I will put it as simply as possible : I am a novice when it comes to Dreamweaver and will need help to make a simple homepage, no animations, sound etc, just an image I have made, and on this image maybe a couple of pictures that you can click and thusly zoom in on. Very easy for those used to DW of course but well not for me...

Then this page has to be uploaded to my domain Host (I think you call it that), which I pay for monthly.

Oh it has to be up for February 23rd which does not make it easier for me...

Maybe all I need to know is here in the forum, if so please tell me where to look :)

Thank you so much in advance !

Daniel

you need to know how to set up dreamweaver and connect it to your server. You can download a free getting started guide here: http://www.dwcourse.com/dreamweaver-mini-course

That will also get you through a bit of text editing and formatting. Then ask lots of questions here. But, on your deadline, you might have a problem.

Thank you for your help and yes this tutorial absolutely fits me, very nice !

Just got scared when I got to your 2.6 part, because the info in the Remote Site window looks bit weird, some in german (as seen in my attachment) ! Also these were not there and suddenly they were !

And this part :
i. On the server, locate the folder that is meant to hold your web
pages. Your web host should have given you this information
but, if you’re flying blind, the most common choices are
httpdocs, public_html and www.
ii. Note the folder name EXACTLY including upper and lower
case letters and any special characters such as underscores (in
the case displayed in fig. 2.6 the proper folder is httpdocs).

Well I have no clue but I dont see nothing on my Strato domain provider close to this. I may be looking in the wrong places, or Strato is bad. The folder I do find that should be the right one has only a "/"...

Sorry about the confusion and thanks for all your help !

Ah I made it ! 2 hours from scratch to get my webpage up ! Sure it is totally basic as for now but it does not matter...

Thank you !!!!!! And when I have time to dig into DreamWeaver I will surely consider your course !

Thanks again for saving my day...

Hi Daniel

I am very impressed with your art, absolutely fantastic stuff on your blogspot page.
Reminds me a bit of one of my favorite artists Moebius.

If i was a bit better with website creating i would offer you to make you one for free cause it would be great working with a person as talented as you.

I guess that once you get into webdesign/programming you will create some marvelous sites.

Good luck
