View Full Version : Sketching - low tech approach

A friend of mine just published an article about sketchnoting in ALA.

Sketching: the Visual Thinking Power Tool (http://www.alistapart.com/articles/sketching-the-visual-thinking-power-tool/)

Since I first met Mike, I've started using sketching more systematically in meetings, planning etc. Initial wireframing, actually initial everything, particularly design, is now done with pen and paper.

Anyone else been going 'low-tech' ?

What a coincidence :) I've just finished the article. I do sketch a lot my first design/layout ideas, before I fire-up Illustrator or Photoshop. And in live client meetings I prefer to sketch as well our ideas together. It is so much quicker and so much more effective... IMO

always, actually it was a post by our own gmcrone yonks ago, that when asked what was the best tool for planning a website he answered a pencil.

sketching is a great tool and I do it with a pencil a lot but I also use Illustrator as a "sketching" tool
