Hello, I have a problem.

I am making a website, and I have several different pages, each with a sidebar. However, I want all of the pages to display the same information inside of the sidebar, at the same time, but I want to be able to update the sidebar. So what I mean is, no matter what page you are on while browsing the website, the sidebar should display the same thing, depending on what I have posted.

How do I accomplish this? I am very new to Dreamweaver, and I really need to figure this out.

OK, you have two options really. The Dreamweaver built in way; http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/dreamweaver-templates.php and the PHP way; http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/php-includes.php

I'd use php includes. I use them on nearly every project I do. They are very reliable easy to use.

I find dw templates I bit of a nightmare and of course you need to continually use dreamweaver to update your site. This may not seem like much of an issue now but many web designers my self included end up not using dreamweaver as their web design tool of choice.

Plus dreamweaver peppers your code with editable region template code, rubbish. Just use includes.

Corrosives tut is all you need to get going but theres a tonne of info out on the web if you want to know more about php.

ill throw my 2 cents in on this and agree, use dw templates only if its a one of , small site and the main priority is unifomity not modifying as it means you still need to upload all the files when you modify a template, where with includes its easy to make site wide changes
