hey, i have a gif progress bar image that is displayed like this:

$progressImage = $templateimagepath.'progress.gif' ;

//later on down the page:

<img src='$progressImage'>" ;
if works in ff, chrome, safari, and opera. but not in ie8, it displays the image but the green bar does not slide across continually.... its just frozen like a still image.

couldnt fing a fix on the net so anyone got any ideas? i dont have an example as you can only see the image when you do an upload.

but i guess if you want to uplaod some pics/videos of CAR AUDIO you can go to www.deafboyzaudio.com (http://www.deafboyzaudio.com) and upload car audio related items to see:mrgreen:

ok this is what i have:
$progressImage = 'http://www.deafboyzaudio.com/videos/templates/Mainstream/layout/skin1/progress.gif' ;

//later on down the page

if (getSetting("moderate_media", $db) == '1') {
echo "<h2><br><br><br><br><br>Please wait - your media is uploading and will be visible as soon as our staff approve it</h2>
<br><br><img src='$progressImage'>" ;
else {
echo "<br><br><br><br><br><br /><br>Please wait - your media is uploading</h2>
<br><br><img src='$progressImage'>" ;

still the still image... is that how you mean to code it or no?

no the actual path to the image as in images/mygif.gif and the value of $progressImage just to check

Maybe I'm just not thinking straight but I'm confused... what do you mean?

you have
<img src='$progressImage'>" ;
so that is a value just to de bug it would be good to see what that is
if it was hard coded it would be the direct path to your imageie "images/progress.gif
<img src=>" ;

Ok I hard coded it and still the same result <img src = 'http://www.blahblahblah/progress.gif'>

Ill get back to this in the morn... its nearly 1 here and I got a lot to do tomorrow

ok well i did a lil research and stumbled across this article... not sure if its outdated or if a update has been released since but check it out...

with that in mind, i decided to do some conditional
if(user using IE){

echo'even if the progress bar doesnt move, your upload is still processing, the problem is internet explorer...';

but ive always wondered... how do i tell if a user is using ie and how do i structure that logic in my page???
