I just heard that UTF-8 is the way to go but when I created my website I didn't realize that the default setting for my Dreamweaver MX 2008 was XHTML 1.0.
I want to change the encoding from XHTML 1.0 to UTF-8 but in Page Properties the adjustments are greyed out. Is it possible and should I bother to change this? Like most designers, I like to be as uniform as possible.

Thanks in advance,

You mix two things up. XHTML 1.0 is part of the doctype decleration and UTF-8 is a character encoding, so I'm not sure what you're after.

I meant to ask how to change charset=ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8? My settings are greyed out.

Aha... that makes sense.

Is your page based upon a template (.dwt)? Not that I know of a solution when it comes to .dwt files... I never worked with them. I can explain if you're comfortable with 'code view'.

Can't you just change the master template in code view?
