Guys

Hopefully one of you will know. We have been asked to take over a site and I have looked at the code (yuck) it is a bit of a mess and looks 'generated' rather than hand built. Question is by what and do I need to be concerned?

Here is some sample CSS;

/* Text styles */
.xr_s0 {font-family:Arial;font-size:28px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#000000;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s1 {font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#B2B2B2;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s2 {font-family:Arial;font-size:18px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#000000;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s3 {font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#7F7F7F;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s4 {font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s5 {font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#000000;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s6 {font-family:Arial;font-size:21px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#FFFFFF;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s7 {font-family:Arial;font-size:28px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#999999;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s8 {font-family:Arial;font-size:13px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s9 {font-family:Arial;font-size:13px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#000000;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s10 {font-family:Arial;font-size:13px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#B2B2B2;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s11 {font-family:Arial;font-size:28px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#40003F;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s12 {font-family:Arial;font-size:13px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#FFFFFF;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s13 {font-family:Arial;font-size:20px;font-weight:bold;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#FFFFFF;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s14 {font-family:Arial;font-size:21px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#000000;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s15 {font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#FFFFFF;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s16 {font-family:Arial;font-size:21px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s17 {font-family:Arial;font-size:16px;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#7F7F7F;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s18 {font-family:Arial;font-size:18px;font-weight:bold;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#000000;letter-spacing:0.0em;}
.xr_s19 {font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;font-weight:bold;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color:#7F7F7F;letter-spacing:0.0em;}

Any ideas at all??

XARA - http://www.xara.com/us/

They have a HTML thing called Webdesigner, but I believe what you have is converted through Designer... same as if you do Save for web (HTML & images) in Photoshop.

And I know it's ugly :)

Yes, just found it... Or actually Lt Columbo (davidj) found it ;) Agreed it is NASTY in the back end. Not going to be over keen to update it I think. Anything you think I ought to know like is it template driven or something?

Yes, Webdesigner is pretty much template driven. It's drag & drop your graphics on a canvas and click on 'publish'... then it will generate the HTML.

Ah, ok. It is just HTML we are dealing with and not anything dynamic then?

Yes! It will generate the HTML, CSS and create folders for the images and the stylesheets... nothing dynamic there.
