I'm reasonably new to DW and would like some assistance with a current project.
I have attache a screen grab of a cross section of a table I am working on.
In the LH cell there is a horizontally centered image, and in the RH cell there is an image which fills the cell.
What I would like some guidance on is how to construct a menu bar which runs across the tpo of the cells, such that the menu headings are placed above the LH image ( without moving the image placement) and over the opaque strip at the top of the RH image.

This is probably basic, but some help would be much appreciated.

Don't use tables for layout.

Or more accurately CSS and meaningful HTML. Don't just use divs as a replacement for tables. Learn properly how to write HTML and then how to style it.

We see time and again people just swapping tables for divs and almost disregarding all other HTML elements.

Thanks for that - I'm now trying to get to grips with CSS layouts. I'll be back!

You are welcome. We all start with tables and then realise they are a bad idea :) You know where we are if you have questions about CSS. We are much happier answering those!
