I basically want to know if there is a way to layer background images on my website. I'm using WordPress 3.0.1 on my site and I want to configure my theme to have a repeating background layer on the bottom and a scrolling/non-repeating background on top underneath the content of the site.

More specifically put, I'm wondering if there is anyway I can do the following:

1) Have a background image of a star field which repeats. (Example IMG (http://thebrb.com/stockpile/files/starfieldimage/starfield.png))

2) Have my current background layered on top of the repeating star field and have it set to scroll with the site and not repeat. (My current background (http://www.geekarmada.com))

The end result I'm looking for is that when a user access my website it would appear basically the same as it does now when it first loads, however as they scroll down the page the green star and logo will scroll up with the top of the page and instead of fading to black as it does now it will fade over another BG image of a star field and that BG image will repeat indefinitely no matter how long the page is.

For this "BG image of a star field and that BG image will repeat indefinitely no matter how long the page is." you can use the background property on the HTML tag and "the green star and logo" you use the background property on the body tag.

CSS:

html {background: url(images/starfield.gif) repeat;}
body {background: url(images/logo.gif) no-repeat top center;}
