I'm looking at downloading zencart through fantastico and my cpanel
This is my first shopping cart.
Do I need to get an SSL certificate separately or does that come w/ shopping cart software? I need the entire ecommerce system.I haven't even gotten to payment gateways.
This is for a small website and I'd like to use a free cart system.
Someone also suggested Presta Cart. I am overwhelmed looking at so many options!
Lastly, do you install zencart in your entire site or make a directory?
I already have paypal on my site.
My whole static site I designed in DW.

Thanks for any help!

Somone else said that Zencart pages won't be found in google. Is this true?

getting found in google is about seo not the software you use. having said that my choice is prestashop, i find zencart less than user friendly, most carts offer the option of seo friendly, which means usually making the category links more relevant.
ssl is something you buy from your hoster and while if using a payment gate way like paypal it is not strictly needed some still opt for it .
where yo put your cart depends on your site if all you have is a shop then use the root folder unless you want an index page for some purpose
