firstly, sorry if my questions are too vague... i think i may have bit off more than i can chew...

i'm totally new to this but filled with overconfidence of youtube video lessons, i'm dabbling into some website projects for fun and basically, i'm stuck.

i am trying to make my website look like this...
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_w9jT_GnjZSc/TLoKfQszkDI/AAAAAAAABko/Rf2q2a95Yq8/s1024/daft.jpg

where the contents in the green box stays the same regardless of the page, (home, building, fashion gallery, etc...)

and the content of the yellow box is what changes as per click on the nav bar (within the green box)

i've played around a bit, created a layout i liked, the saved it as index.html, then saved as building.html and then tested it... what i'm seeing is that the objects, despite being same size, jumps... the logo, nav bar etc... just jumps a bit... and i was hoping to keep it in the lower portion of the page.

now comes my youtube lessons and i feel that css videos are due...

but wanted to check with you folks for some direction and advice...

i know i'm going at it jumping all over the place... so excuse my impatience and thank you in advance for all your help.

How are you constructing your layout? Some code would be good.

What your trying to acheive doesnt sound too difficult. Learning CSS will make your job a lot easier.

I found youtube to be a mish-mash of some ok but mostly not very good tutorials.

These ones however are helpful and easy to follow. http://www.timothywebdesign.com/los-angles-web-design-tutorials.htm

I've also heard DWcourse from this site has a good colletion.

thank you for your reply...

i am still in process of going through some video tutorials... i have to admit, it did seem simple... after going through an hour of going through CreateTheNet videos... seems there are many other guides recommended here as well.

i've played around with creating index.html and other files and just getting the feel of things... and noticed that just the first intro video on the dreamweaver will not be enough...

let me go through some more tutorials and then ask a better or more intelligent question... lol.
