Hey everyone! :) I'm new to graphic design/web design, and I was wondering if I need to know how to write HTML before learning how to use Dreamweaver? Thanks!

Learn HTML and CSS as you learn Dreamweaver. Work in split view and see the code that DW writes and try and understand it. Try this; http://corrosiveonline.co.uk/tutorials_html_tag_guide.php and this; http://corrosiveonline.co.uk/tutorials_css_explained.php for starters.

Corrosive is absolutely right. Use Dreamweaver as a tool to learn HTML and CSS. But make sure you learn them. Don't get lazy and just let Dreamweaver do all the work. You're pages will suffer.

Thanks guys! What exactly is Javascript and PHP?

They're scripting (sort of programming) languages that allow you to add interactivity to your web pages, connect to databases, etc.

JavaScript runs in your browsers and PHP runs on the server and converts your commands into html before delivering your page.

both are internet technologies javascript is client side , php is serverside. they both add functionality to sites, or bells and whistles , php can give the ability to communicate with databases and make site content dynamic

Hi Ughh, i'm a newbie myself, learning the basics of html definitely helped me with how dreamweaver works

It might seem confusing at first, but hang on in there and eventually it will all fall into place

All i know is the basics, but it's enough to get started with
