Aloha Forum,

I am stuck and need your help figuring something out about image maps. If you could help me out I would really appreciate it.

I am creating an image map for one of my websites... I would like there to be a "mouseover" image that changes depending upon the hotspot that the user is hovering over.

I have already had a designer create one similar that can be seen here so that you know exactly what I mean:

www.freevacationshawaii.com/begin (http://www.freevacationshawaii.com/begin)

Well, he's on vacation and I am trying to build one in DW. I believe that I've got about 90% of everything right, but I'm not able to get it to work in WP without errors on the page.

Here is where I'm at:

I have created all of the image variations for the mouseover images (attached HERE (http://www.freevacationshawaii.com/wp-content/themes/sightseeingoahu/Mouse%20Over%20Images.zip))
I have created the DW html and image map (attached HERE (http://www.freevacationshawaii.com/wp-content/themes/sightseeingoahu/DW%20Image%20Map%20File.zip))
I have applied the "onmouseover" code to the hotspots
I have copied the code to : www.sightseeingoahu.info (http://www.sightseeingoahu.info)When Viewed, My browser reports that they are errors on the page... And the image map is not responsive... It doesn't change pictures when hovering over the various buttons.

However, the table shows up and the hrefs are good.

Help Me Oh Wise Ones!

Do I need to add a script somewhere? Do I need to add a php page? Is my code wrong?

You have to include the javascript where MM_swapImage is defined.

If you inserted the swap image behavior using Dreamweaver it would be in the head of the document. If you just pasted your image and map in from another document you need to go back and get the javascripts.

BTW, most people are reluctant to open zip files uploaded to the forum.

Thanks for your valuable insight DWcourse. I did exactly what you said... It worked in DW Preview, but not live on the WP Site...

So, I copied the JavaScript into my header.php file and that did the trick.

Thanks for your help! If you send me your PayPal email, I will make good on my offer. =)
