according to Wikipedia:

Adobe Creative Suite 3 (CS3) was announced on March 27, 2007; it introduced universal binaries for all major programs for the Apple Macintosh

Earlier version could run on Intel using Rosetta.

thanks DW, and DW 4 was first one in which the properties bar required use of CSS correct?

Do you mean Dreamweaver 4 or Dreamweaver CS4?

CS3 also did to some degree. In fact, if you made changes in the Properties bar it would write styles for you. That's why you come across sites with .style1, .style2 etc.

CS4 actually forces you to define the style yourself. so you get a chance to name it.

DW,
this is at bottom left of CS5:

What is first version that's like this: where the property bar is divided into html and CSS, unlike with DW8 (the version I have) which it's all still html.

CS4 introduced the split (HTML/CSS) Properties Inspector for text.
