Hi, I am fairly new to website design and I have been building my website for the last couple of weeks however I have encountered with one issue, no matter what I do, I can't manage dreamweaver to center my layout, here is a link that contains one of the pages i have designed so you can check out the source code and tell me, if possible, what am i doing wrong.

Kind regards.

you are using tables as layout, not the bes approach. use divs and enclose your div in a wrapper div , give it a size use margins on auto to centre it. If you search this forum you will find the method described in more detail than i have given as it is so often asked.
Welcome to the forum BTW

from your source, it looks like you just....made some tables and threw in some text. You have to make "ground layer" div. Make it relative, set your size and your margins. I normally make mine 1000px in width. Name that styles or style. Then build on top of that. Then everything will center its self.

But this is just my method. There are tons of them.

Here is a quick run down of the method apollothedog has just explained; http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/css-center-content.php. He/she is also correct about your code and tables. Just think about what purpose;

Start with this,

http://www.tutvid.com/tutorials/dreamweaver/tutorials/createCompleteCSSLayout.php

Then if your good in photoshop, you can try this
[link removed]

Believe it or not, but. Since dreamweaver is such a good program. Coding vs Design probably equals to ...70/30 split. 70 design and 30 is code.

Hi apollothedog

Sorry, I have removed that link. We do not recommend the 'export as HTML' method here. It just leads to terrible code and heartache. We are all about doing things the right way.

It even says on the website...

We will export a web layout made in Photoshop and build an editable website layout in Dreamweaver. We will then convert the page to a template for future use and ease of editing. While this is far from being the "ideal" way to layout a website it is a popular way to at least get started in Dreamweaver.

Sorry but we only end up having to clear up the mess it leaves behind.
