View Full Version : My Views Are Different!

Im working on a site right now, being coded by myself.

Im working in CSS and the HTML by typing the code.

My Co - Designer prefers to use Design View.

When the site is Previewed in Safari or any other browser, It looks according to plan.

But when in design view. it all looks, VERY different.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not much you can do about that I'm afraid. Design view is only an approximation of how it will look and, truth be told, it ain't all that good.

Your aim is to get it looking good in browsers and not design view anyway.

Suggest you coax your co-designer into coding.

Ill tell him that he's no choice put to move the desired elements using the values I set in CSS!

Ill go away and stick it to the man!

Thank you!

Good man. He'll thank you in the end when he is banging out CSS sites and manipulating elements and code like a pro. Just be there to support him in learning it all :)

That's the thing, he should be supporting moi!

There's a BIG difference in the amount of experience. we've had.

Hopefully you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Again, thank you for your help and a quick reply.

I guess sometimes it is easier to learn from scratch than change the habits of a lifetime. It depends how deeply ingrained his working practices are!

Indeed, being only 18 I learnt dreamweaver from the coding side of things, My tutor was to beat me if I did otherwise..

But as of my co workers age. His knowledge of the code is... Limited..

Newer versions of DW offer Design Time Styles which are style sheets that only affect Design View. I've never found them worthwhile but, if it's a simple fix maybe.
